Oct/Nov 2026 Business Studies: Final-Month Revision Plan

Oct/Nov 2026 Business Studies: Final-Month Revision Plan - omeraltaf.com

If your Oct/Nov 2026 Business Studies exam is close, you do not need more notes. You need a plan. The last month is about finding weak topics, practising exam technique and building speed. This revision plan works for O Level, IGCSE and AS Level Business Studies, and it is the same structure I use with my online students across Pakistan.

Step 1: Audit Your Weak Topics (Days 1-3)

Take one recent past paper under timed conditions and mark it honestly with the mark scheme. Then list every question you lost marks on and tag the reason: knowledge gap, application (you did not use the case study) or evaluation (no judgement). This list becomes your revision map, so you spend time where marks are actually lost.

Week-by-Week Plan

  • Week 1 – Core topics: business activity, ownership types, objectives, stakeholders, and motivation. Write one-page summaries from memory, then check against your notes.
  • Week 2 – Marketing and operations: the marketing mix, market research, production methods, quality and costs.
  • Week 3 – Finance: cash flow, break-even, profit, ratios and sources of finance. Practise calculations until the formulas are automatic.
  • Week 4 – Full papers: two timed papers per week, then review every mark lost. Light revision of definitions only in the last two days.

How to Use Past Papers Properly

Doing past papers is not the same as learning from them. After each paper, rewrite the questions you got wrong using the mark scheme wording. Keep a running list of examiner phrases and command words (state, explain, analyse, justify). Aim for at least 8-10 full papers across Paper 1 and Paper 2 before the exam.

A Simple Daily Routine

Two focused sessions beat five distracted hours. Try 90 minutes on one topic, a break, then 45 minutes of past paper questions on that same topic. End each day by testing yourself on five definitions without looking.

Common Revision Mistakes

  • Rereading notes instead of testing yourself.
  • Ignoring calculations until the last week.
  • Writing long theory answers with no link to the business in the question.
  • Skipping the “justify” or “recommend” part, where the highest marks sit.
  • Studying new topics the night before the exam.

Exam-Day Tips

Read the case study fully, underline the numbers and business context, and use them in every long answer. Watch the marks: roughly one minute per mark. Leave time to check calculations and units.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I revise Business Studies in the last month?

Start with a timed past paper to find weak topics, revise those first, then spend the final two weeks on full timed papers and mark scheme review.

How many past papers should I do before the exam?

Aim for 8-10 full papers across both papers, reviewing every mistake with the mark scheme rather than only checking your score.

Is one month enough to improve my Business Studies grade?

Yes, if you revise by weak topic and practise exam technique. Most lost marks come from application and evaluation, which can improve quickly with guided practice.

Can I get online help for Oct/Nov 2026 revision in Pakistan?

Yes. I offer online O Level, IGCSE and A Level Business Studies classes for students across Pakistan, including short revision programmes before the exam.
